Asmae has led the “Yalla! For Children’s Rights” project since 2014. This is an Education for Citizenship and International Solidarity programme (ECIS) that seeks to make children, young people and adults aware of and involved in children’s rights.

Our team, made up of a project officer and young volunteers in public service, travels around France all year to bring children and youth the keys to:

• Know and understand their rights; 
• Be aware of inequalities in the application of these rights in the world;
• Become actors of solidarity themselves.

 The sessions can take different forms:

• Fun workshops;
• Interactive conferences;
• Children’s rights Escape Game.

Our workshops seek to encourage young people’s desire to get involved and make them understand their power to act. We offer to assist them in coming together to undertake a collectively chosen and designed act of solidarity: children’s rights day, charity runs or fundraising activities.

The objective is to develop students’ critical thinking and make them aware of the fact we all have a role to play in society, even as children.

For businesses 

The “Yalla! For the children’s rights” project is also intended for adults! We can run fun, friendly, team-building awareness-raising workshops in your company or organisation.

In local authorities 

We offer trainings on children’s rights for activity professionals (activity leaders and directors) of leisure centres and social centres. These consist firstly of discovering rights and inequalities in the application of these rights. We then run an introduction and training with our educational tools for the non-school-related public: escape game, outdoor games, etc.

Solidarity actions can also be organised in partnership with city halls solidarity course, events for the general public, etc.

Continuing the “Yalla! For Children’s Rights” project, a free digital education platform, “Children’s Rights School,” was created for children aged 8 to 12 years old.

Based on the same education as the initial program, this is a set of turnkey, scalable and interactive educational tools.

The children can learn in a fun way through videos, games, quizzes and challenges to solve. A surprise is hidden behind the lessons… the sponsor of our project, Joan Faggianelli, leads the educational videos.

The platform can be used by a teacher in class, or at home.

For the future ambassadors of the children’s rights:

In November 2019 Asmae launched the first “YallaTour” for the 30-year commemoration of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child in 2019. The project team has also gone out to meet children all over France. This was an unforgettable experience for the teams as well as the participants.

In 2020 and 2021 the teams once again set off around the country, spreading information to almost 4,700 students. The Yalla team has travelled all over the regions of Bretagne, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Rhone-Alpes and Ile-de-France to meet students from kindergarten age up to high school level. The action in these regions stimulated media interest which covered the event, in particular France 3 Alsace, France 3 Lorraine, Le Parisien, RCF, DNA and La Vie.
