Indian Youth Face Many Challenges

India, where 50% of the population is under the age of 25, faces major challenges for its youth. Nearly 30% of children drop out of school early, limiting their future prospects. The unemployment rate for 20- to 24-year-olds stands at 45%, hindering their entry into the workforce. Furthermore, the country accounts for one-third of the world’s child brides, illustrating persistent inequalities and barriers to the empowerment of young girls.

Testimonial

“I couldn’t find a job because I lacked English and computer skills. I enrolled in the vocational training program organized by Arunodhaya with Asmae’s support. After completing the training, I was hired as a cashier. My salary allows me to support my family. I plan to continue taking correspondence courses to earn my high school diploma.”
