During his visit to Madagascar, Adrien Sallez, Executive Director of Asmae – Association Sœur Emmanuelle, and Madagascar’s Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training officially signed a partnership agreement between Asmae and the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training (METFP).
Signed for three years and renewable, this agreement reflects a shared goal: to better support young people in accessing training, developing their skills, finding employment, and achieving economic independence. Through this partnership, Asmae and the METFP will work, in particular, to improve access to information on careers and training pathways, strengthen guidance and support for integration programs, develop young people’s technical and soft skills, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen links between training centers and the professional world.
Special attention will be given to the most vulnerable youth, girls, and people with disabilities, in order to promote a more inclusive and sustainable transition into the workforce. This initiative is fully aligned with Asmae’s 2030 Strategy, which aims to empower the most vulnerable children and youth to take full ownership of their own futures. Because training must open up real opportunities, Asmae works alongside young people to strengthen their skills, confidence, independence, and social and economic inclusion.
In Madagascar, this partnership marks a new step toward better aligning training programs with the realities and needs of young people, as well as with those of the workforce. It also carries on Sister Emmanuelle’s legacy: the conviction that every young person has potential that simply needs to be nurtured and valued.
